Should religion be a deciding factor when it comes to relationships/dating?

Recently started taking a girl out and found out she is of a different religion to mine. I personally think that it should not matter, and that love is love no matter the religious beliefs. I also am not the most religious person so I can see how this could vary person to person. (I was raised Christian-catholic and this new girl is Jewish). What r your op on this topic?? genuinely curious
