I recently parted ways with a nightmare office job within my field where I was grossly underpaid, overworked, yelled at routinely (even in front of clients), and received no benefits, but a part of me wonders if I should've been more grateful throughout my time there in light of my economic background (I was making more money than my parents ever have even though it was way below market for my field) and how weak my resume was at the time.

Never be grateful

No. Being grateful for that kind of thing, or thinking that you should, will have you filling slots for the rest of your life. You'll just be another cog in a machine. You should never see a job you hate as anything other than a temporary means to an end. And you should always have a time frame of when you'll be able to move on.

work in the usa is crap. The benefits don't match the amount of hours and tedious labour.
