If your brow-ridge protrudes past the mid face I think you are recessed (right).

Left is what it should look like IMO with the brow-ridge in-line with the middle of the mid face.

Equal length because if its too recessed, you'll look like an elf. If its too ejected, it you'll look like Mega Mind.
