I’m not saying cheating if good but for freshers and juniors cheating for the online assessments if fine. This is the smartest play. Most people I've seen do this infact.
The ideal strategy imo is to cheat reasonably in online assessments (OA) and prepare rigorously for the interview.
There were 100s of cheaters in my batch who scored well in the OAs but bombed their interviews meanwhile nighas who didn't cheat in the OA don't even get shortlisted. And yes of course there were companies who wouldn't short list people with perfect scores as they likely cheated
Most HR's and interview panels know the ground reality of cheating and they don't really care that is why you have those no camera online assessment and unproctered tests because most jobs don't require a genius or someone with a mountain of knowledge. Even the corporates know that you as a fresher or junior can learn at your job. Many companies don't even let juniors touch the core systems until several months of training where they assume you know nothing. They just need a filter to reject people.
For experienced candidates 2+ years. That is a different story tho. You're expected to actually know stuff. I was hired as a fresher for an experienced role because of my free lance experience of 2 years and bunch of internships so my interview process was different but for most of you who are just entering the corporate world and are pure freshers. The bar is low enough that cheating works as a shortcut.
I am not saying not to prepare, or cheating works all the time tho. You still need to work hard and learn the stuff eventually and have to survive the interview rounds but its fine to use it initially. ChatGPT, paid helpers when allowed. Practice the exact patterns you'll see so it's good advice to reach out to your seniors or connections in those companies for the questions that they got asked during the interview rounds companies tend to ask the same questions near verbatim many times and also repeat the exact hiring processes. So that's my advice
