I mewed when I had braces when I was 16 or 17 and my teeth started to get a gap in them but my orthodontist closed it by tightening my braces after that I stopped mewing for good.
I could have not mewed in the mornings and wear my retainer at night that would move my teeth back and forth as said my dr Mike mew
I am now 20 years old
It’s been like 4 months since I stopped wearing it to bed everyday
I have just been mewing and keeping proper tongue posture
My first theory was that if a gap appeared that would mean I achieved some palate growth
But since I haven’t had any gap forming in my teeth I assume I had no growth
Theoretically speaking if you are in puberty you could ditch your retainer and hold proper tongue posture and you might get some improvement but a gap will probably appear therefore you would need braces and Invisalign to close it
As you can see no gap in teeth after 4 months of not wearing my retainer ^
This is my retainer it’s called a hawley style retainer^
My bottom fixed retainer is broken and my Jewish orthodontist said either to fix it by paying 600$ before insurance and he also scared me by saying that my bottom teeth has too much crowding and in the future it can cause problems
and that I need to either get Invisalign or Bi max to make room for the teeth
My teeth shifted after my bottom fixed retainer broke but it isn’t noticeable so I should just pay 600$ to get a new wire so it doesn’t drift more
Nearly 12k CAD before insurance
So yeah it ain’t a big concern I’ll get rhino first tbh
