I’ve seen a lot of posts where people claim their bi-delt width is “21 inches+,” yet they still get mogged by other men. So chances are that a lot of people here are measuring incorrectly.

Here’s how to do it correctly, depending on what you want to measure:

---

🔹 Measuring Bi-Deltoid Width

Stand with your back against a wall.

Have someone (or yourself) mark the outermost point of each deltoid.

Measure the straight line distance between the two marks.

Average bi-deltoid width:

Males: 20 inches

Females: 17 inches

---

🔹 Measuring Bi-Acromial Width

The most accurate method is using a sliding caliper.

Alternatively, stand against a wall, mark the outer edge of each acromion, and measure the straight distance between the two points.

Average bi-acromial width:

Males: 16 inches

Females: 14 inches

These measurements are used in anthropometry studies, so they match official percentile charts. Using a measuring tape isn’t accurate because it follows the curve of your body, inflating the result.

---

So if you’re comparing yourself to those charts, make sure you’re measuring the same way they did.

---

Bideltoid and biacromial percentile charts are below so you can compare your measurements if you want.

---

As for me, my measurements are:

18.25-inch bi-acromial

21-inch untrained bi-delt

Just had to flex. 💪

People I don’t know don’t usually come up to me and say anything, but I do notice that I get looked at for a while sometimes but I'm not sure if it’s because of my shoulders. Friends of my parents or people I get to know, though, almost always mention that I’m really broad or big.
