I don’t believe a study when you ask women what’s the most attractive even if anonymous.
I’m not a teenager, I socialmaxxed a lot in the past. I can’t count how much women I saw falling for beautiful smiles, it’s one of the best halo.

If I recall correctly they didn’t ask women “is it more attractive when men smile?” (The study would’ve said that it’s more attractive if that was the case) but instead they asked women to rate men, some were smiling and some weren’t, and the non-smiling men won. Granted that could be biased, they could’ve used pictures of less attractive men smiling and more attractive men not smiling. But I also am not a teenager and what I’ve learned is FACT is that you can never listen to what women say but instead what they DO.

I understand your point. Here's my theory.
It is not an indicator of fertility, wich means it doesn't make the foids wet in itself.
However, the smile is one of the best indicator of health. It shows hygiene and teeth/jaw dev. Health is a major component of beauty (by skin,hair,teeth). Especially IRL, a gl smile will allow the girl to get feelings of sympathy and trust towards you, which is neccessary to get laid no matters what is said here.
To counter your study, it is well known that mens smiling get more matches on Tinder. Legit, you can even try it yourself. This is because of the importance for foids to feel trust on dating apps.
Us men also like a gl smile, however it is way less valued by our instinct cause we don't need to be cautious.

would it look better with a wider palate? maybe. but I dont think the difference would be that big and you would be trading cheek hollowness for that.
