We Are in 2025, Yet Some People Still Shower Like Monkeys

Before you comment "water," yeah, guess what—some people use it in looksmaxx comments but not IRL to wash themselves (reason for this post).

TL;DR:

Some folks still don’t know how to shower properly. This guide explains when and how to shower without overcomplicating things.

How Often Should You Shower?

If I don’t work out that day, I shower once when I wake up and once before I sleep.

If you do work out or do something sweaty/dirty, you should obviously add a shower after that activity (preferably even before you interact with anyone).

TL;DR:

Shower at least twice daily—more if you sweat or get dirty.

Steps for Proper Showering

1. Setting Up the Water

Water temperature should be:

  • Hot enough so you don’t freeze.
  • Cold enough so you don’t wreck your skin or, uh, sensitive areas.
Personally, I like my water a little warmer than lukewarm.

TL;DR: Warm water is best—don’t go too hot or too cold.

2. Rinse Yourself with Just Water

Spend about 4 minutes rinsing your body to get rid of big dirt. No soap yet.

TL;DR: Rinse with water first to remove major dirt.

3. First Soapy Stage: Shower Gel/Oil

  • Use a good-quality shower gel. I personally like Dove.
  • Lather it all over your body.
  • Scrub with your scrubby thing (loofah or whatever you use).
  • Rinse off thoroughly.
TL;DR: Use shower gel, scrub, rinse.

4. Second Soapy Stage: Bar Soap

  • Use a natural-sourced bar soap for a deeper, manlier clean. (I use one that smells like white flowers—don’t remember the name.)
  • Scrub your body again.
  • Rinse with water.
TL;DR: Bar soap = deeper clean. Scrub again, rinse again.

5. After Shower Routine

  • Dry yourself with a clean towel.
  • Use deodorant (I use roll-on Borotalco Original—great for sensitive skin).
  • Apply deodorant to your armpits and feet to avoid smelly feet.
TL;DR: Dry off, apply deodorant to pits and feet.

Shampoo?
