In 2015 Silentó released "Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)" when he was just 17 years old and it instantly became a huge hit. It peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and went 6x Platinum and was on radios, stadiums for months.
He signed to the biggest music record labels in the industry Capitol record and after that Silento did release songs after that.
But nobody cared. The novelty song was the whole bag. No second hit, no real catalog, just a one hit wonder living off the residual checks and the memory of everybody doing the Nae Nae in 2015.
By 2019, His demons got into him. He was born and brought up in apelanta and as expected grew up around drugs, violence, addictions and this one hit wonder just catapulted his mental problems
In 2020. He was arrested for domestic violence against his gf
And the next day he’s walking into some random people’s houses looking for his girlfriend swinging a hatchet at them.
Gets charged with assault with a deadly weapon. Couple months later he’s doing 143 mph on the highway in Georgia. Turned into a regular jailbird
But shit really hit the fan when this retard shoots his own cousin, Frederick Rooks III, multiple times in the face and leg outside the family area in DeKalb County for no good reason. Literally pure impulse and in heated exchange of words and after a long trial pleaded guilty last year in 2025. Gets 30 years in prison. This is what he looks like now
The song is still floating around with almost 2 billion views. The kid who made it is sitting in some Georgia prison. He's 27 now. The universe handed a teenager a lottery ticket but he had blow it all away
