Remember that old lie you'd hear women say about how they wear makeup and nice clothes to look good for themselves - NOT to attract a man? Of course, this was just an excuse women used because of the advent of feminism. As we know, women have been 'looksmaxxing' in the hope of finding a Chad to teehee over for centuries.
By and large, this is still the case. However, up until around 15 years ago, simping wasn't particularly common - simply because the infrastructure to simp wasn't there. If a guy was low inhib enough, he would be forced to simp in public by paying her a compliment or by buying her drinks at the bar all night. Despite dramatically descending in the way she looks, the simping will continue. Even though she quite clearly looks like shit now, there will still be beta orbiters in her DMs telling her she is beautiful. Women don't need to look good for themselves or a man in 2020, because their SMV will largely stay the same in relation to the attention they receive.
