These tips are mostly meant for people who are already lean, but can be utilized regardless how far you've gotten on your leanmaxxing journey.

  • Don't villanize foods or food groups. Almost everything can be eaten in moderation. E.g.; keto can work very well periodically for some people, but carbs are not the enemy. Leave even some room for "unhealthy" things like cake, sweets and chips if you happen to really like those.
  • Eat only when you're hungry. As creatures of habit it's easy to get into a pattern where you're eating basically the same things at the same times everyday. Not necessary! Your body is a wonderful machine that's naturally evolved to tell you when you need certain macros and nutrients. If you find yourself satiated and full of energy then why not dedicate a day to fasting? Save that pizza or chocolate cake for a rainy day!
  • Portion size. Again, it's important to include foods you really enjoy. You need to eat nutritious food like meat and vegetables, so as long as you're getting that regularly, it's fine to treat yourself with a bowl of ice cream or something like that. Do I make you hungry? Good, you can eat! Just make sure to have a food scale or some other means of making sure you don't go too crazy with the portion sizes. Caloric balance is like half of the calculation. The other half is quality of foods, activity level and sleep.
I just wrote this as a start. There's more tips to come!

Getting, and especially staying lean, should be easy. So often we make it harder than it has to be by ruminating, procrastinating or being too hard on ourselves when we inevitably slip up or don't see progress as fast as we would've liked. That's why you need to be kind and forgiving to yourself, while keeping the focus on the long haul and making sure you're enjoying and appreciating the point were you're currently at.

did not read. staying lean requires a deficit every day, being miserable everyday, low energy everyday, being hungry everyday and if you don’t suffer these symptoms you simply aren’t lean enough.

  • Don't make food the main focus of your life. So many of us rely on treats and hyperpalatable foods to reward ourselves, spike dopamine and give us that little sense of comfort when we're feeling down. This is OK if you do it once in a while, but you should always strive to have a myriad (as many as possible) of other activities that makes you feel good, so that you're not using food as a crutch to get through with everyday life.
People with this mentality often end up miserable and cranky, with a sort of "I'm better than you" attitude, because they feel self-righteous and entitled for putting in so much hard work. @JudgeandJury is a perfect example. People with a more easygoing attitude are not as harsch on themselves and are therefore also less likely judge and lash out at others.

I guess that's true if you're particularly lazy and low energy (most people on this forum). I just try to help those I see potential in.
