Hi everyone,

I am using hydroquinone, Kojic Acid soap, azelaic acid and sunscreen to currently lighten my skin tone.

I also use a regular skincare routine (cleanser, toner, exfoliate, moisturise).

My concern is that with so many actives being used to lighten skin, isn't this going to destroy my skin barrier. I can actually already feel the burning sensation when applying the topicals and moisturiser.

Generally, I think we should keep a minimal skincare routine with not too many actives, but for skin lightening purposes you need to use all these actives.

So my question is, how do I prevent destroying my barrier while lightening skin? Or do I just accept the destruction of my barrier while lightening my skin, then stop using those actives and solely focus on repairing the barrier.

I would recommend injecting glutathione 1500mg weekly or upping the dose to your liking via IM injections would work alot better than this stack.

and if u dont have acne dont even bother with cleanser and toner. where even is ur sunscreen?

all you need for effective results is a tret+hydroquonine mixed cream and SPF 50, with a moisturizer

i'l never understand why people use all these restarted acids and soaps

Yeah I’m using sunscreen too (LRP anthelios however you spell it), I stopped doing everything except tret + hydro rn for skin lightening and acne (mostly scars).

Even more than hydro? I’ve been using hq for around a month and seen a little lightening, nothing too major though.

In my opinion yea it’s better, especially when you combine it with liposamal vitamin C, also with hydroquinone you may get the chronosis if you use it to long which is really hard to fix so your better of just cutting out the hq use and using gluta 👍

Alright cool, ill try get my hands on some glutathione injections then.

Yeah ive heard about onchronosis from hydroquinone use, I think its a risk of you use it long term but I only plan to use it for around 2 months at a time and then stop using for 2 months, then repeat… I’m currently tapering off, and if glutathione works as well as you say then I’ll just use that.

Apparently the results with glutathione are permanent too
