no bullshit, this is probably the most simplified yet comprehensive way to nuke your acne universally.
-- Enviormentals --
1. Diet general rule of thumb: 70-80% animal based (meat, eggs, fish, etc. [dairy if tolerated, calcium citrate supplement if not] | 20-30% omnivorous (kiwis, oranges, sweet potatoes) plants cover most nutrients missing from meat that reduce inflammation and promote skin health {low iq primal cells gtfo})
[2-3 Liters a day of water ofc.]
2. SLEEP. So fucking important, 400mg magnesium biglycinate, avoid bright lights and eating 2-3 hours before sleep. Aim for 9 hours in bed. Optimizing sleep will skyrocket your cognitive function and development, so don't miss out.
3. Avoid touching your face and re-using towels, clean your sheets + pillowcase. A silk pillowcase can assist in preventing breakouts. We've all heard it
-- SKIN --
1. Find a trusted moisturizer, specifically catored towards "barrier repair" if using strong actives. MY PERSONAL FAV: La Roache Posay Double Repair (works wonders). In the morning, use an SPF based one to prevent photo aging.
2. Hylaronic Acid (2%), apply right after shower while your skin is still damp to lock in moisture. Within 60 seconds, apply moisturizer. If you want, during the morning wash your face with cold water and apply the serum again before applying morning moisturizer. This will ensure your skin is as hydrated as possible.
3. Cleanser: Find a hydrating cleanser, regardless if your skin is "oily or not". It should be able to clean your face sufficiently of any debris without stripping too much oil. I use La Roache Hydrating Clenser. If your using an active, do not get something for "oily skin" as it will strip essential moisture and oil.
Optionals: Vitamic C Serum, 1x a week exfoliation
ACTIVES:
SKIP THE BULLSHIT
salycilic acid, benzoyl peroxide, their all cope.
MILD ACNE: use tretinoin. Doubles your skins turnover rate and pulls out acne at a rapid rate. I recommend 0.05% once every 2-3 days until adjusted.
even if you dont have acne, tretinoin is the absolute gold standard for skin health in general. you must be careful, however, improper use will obliterate your moisture barrier and cause even more acne.
^^^^
To apply it safely, go through the regiment (hylaronic acid + moisturizer). after your skin is mostly dry apply a SMALL amount of tret and spread it evenly. just a small pea is good to maximize effects while minimizing "purge"/irritation. after a few minutes, apply a generous amount of moistruizer AGAIN. Use this method and you will avoid the "purge" that idiots discuss when tretinoin destroys their skin because of improper use.
SEVERE ACNE:
mid dose of accutane is the best bet if you applied diet and sleep, but it still won budge. Not really sure about the dosing, I assume you'll have to go to a dermatologist anyway. For 99% of people, they can fix a majority of their skin problems optimizing environment. I highly recommend taking that route and using tretinoin, as tret has unique properties potentially making it better than accutane for overall skin health.
