• Smooth skin = glow, youthful healthy look,

Everything you work for looksmaxing gets nerfed by ass skin texture.

Fixing acne scars, bumps, and pores is better than trying to tan or trying to make yourself look more light skinned

The reason a lot of people tan is having a higher contrast colouring will bring away attention from rough skin texture like scarring as long as it is minor. I agree having severe scarring is worse then having shots tone but even severe scarring with great time isn't a big issue
