Let me explain. Before, my skin wasn't dry; it was normal. Since I started my skincare routine, it's made my skin worse. I've tried Lipikar from La Roche-Cerave and Aestura, but I still have the same problem: as soon as I wash my skin, it becomes very, very dry. As if that wasn't enough, I used a powerful retinol, Tazarotene 0.05, which completely destroyed my skin barrier

I've only ever applied a moisturizer.

But a month and a half ago, I added Taz in addition to my moisturizer, then I stopped a week ago and still nothing. Currently, I'm using La Roche-Posay Moisturizer + B5.

Hmm, not so sure, sounds like a skin barrier issue, I'd try a cleanser (gentle)

 I also feel like my skin barrier is too fragile; I've never heard of anyone having it destroyed by a moisturizing cream.

The ecstasy completely destroyed it, but before that, the moisturizer irritated my skin a little; I need one that's designed for the driest skin possible.

Try not to use too many active ingredients in your skin care routine, try aquaphor or la roche posay cicaplast
Retinol also makes your skin more sensitive to the sun, use spf whenever you go out.

Its inevitable with taz, keep doing what toure doing and apply spf and your barrier will recover

Start with tretinoin it is not harsh like taz and good for long term and also better than the otc retinols. I use the one from skinorac. Try the la roche posays cicaplast along with that.

Same thing happened to me. Tretinoin gave me neurogenic rosacea. Drop all retinols.

Rosacea is permanent condition. Doesn't sound like you have it though so don't worry just stop the tret it's skin damage in a bottle.

No, I'm not suffering from it. I stopped using all products two weeks ago, even my moisturizer, and now I'm feeling better.

Make sure u are only washing your face with water in mornings and only do your skincare in the evenings.
