Do you know what are these little bumps on my cheek? They're only visible when i'm under some lighting, it is almost impossible to see them if i'm not under some lighting. What can i do to get rid of it? My skincare only consists of a cleanser for oily face in the morning and evening and a moisturizer, neutrogena hydroboost with fps 25. Also clean diet and lots of water.

Try salicylic acid first. Ideally, you want to use a retinoid, but with all these closed comedones you have, your face will look like pepperoni pizza for a couple of weeks before getting better.

Definitely start using a retinoid. Ideally you need tretinoin, but if you can't get it, adapalene will be good too. Just go to a derm to get a prescription. Just tell them that you've tried all OTC treatments and nothing helped.

Also, stop cleansing with anything. Just use water from now on. It could be that your cleanser is causing all this.

You got pimples bro. Perhaps some older acne scars as well which is what you see under the local lighting.

So i should buy tretinoin right? I use it only on the comedones right? I need a prescription to buy one? Ok i'll do it.

Cleansing only with water are you sure? I live in a place that is sunny every single day (all year, there's no winter here it's like it's summer everyday and it's hot af) and i have oily face i think, this cleanser is from a well trusted brand, La Roche, it's a deep cleanser for oily faces. Do i really need to stop using it?

Tretinoin will dry your face, so you'll probably have a less oily face. Also, try to avoid sweating; stay indoors, stay out of the sun, have A/C or at least a fan. Wash your face right after sweating, take showers frequently. You don't want sweat on your skin for too long. Start looking through /r/skincareaddiction they know what's up.

Yea i always do everything i can to not sweat. If tretinoin is going to dry my face then i'll stop using the cleanser. Thx for the tips

That's dusgusting.

Some of my acne only shows with specific lightning too, so maybe it is just acne. I personally use korean cleansing cream + regular tonic + L'Oreal Hydra Genius.

Retin A daily before bed.

Use Asian sunscreen 15 min before you go outside ANYTIME you will be exposed to sun.

Morning:

Cleanse
Asian Sunscreen spf 50
Vitamin C Serum

Night:

Exfoliate (to remove and cleanse shit)
Retin A
Moisturizer if it’s cold out. If not don’t use it.

It seems like you have almost no closed comedones, but a lot of black heads. Regardless you can

A majority of those are black heads, especially the bigger ones. Here's what you should do.

Buy a comedone extractor off Amazon, chances are your local drug store has some as well.

1. Take a really hot shower/put a damp towel in the microwave and let it get warm, put it over your face.
2. Follow the video and extract all of the blackheads (not white heads, and not pimples if you have any)

This will take out what you currently have, but blackheads are caused by not exfoliating enough. You don't want physical exfoliation, so you need a chemical exfoliant. But you need to take out the blackheads you currently have, because putting tretinoin on blackheads that big isn't going to do shit.

First you take extract them, then you can start a skincare routine to maintain the clogged free skin.

If you've been using salicylic acid routinely and still getting clogged pores, then get a small tube of low strength tretinoin.

First of all thanks dude for writing all of this. Yeah i don't use an exfoliator, i will start it asap, i was thinking about buying the COSRX BHA Blackhead chemical exfoliator, using it 2 times per week wed and sat, what do you think?

About the blackhead exctrator, i think i'll pay some of these professional clinics that takes care of your skin to do it for me, they have all the equipment and shit, and it's pretty cheap here so it's fine.

About the tretinoin, yeah i will probably buy it too since everyone here is telling me to use it. Do i have to use it everyday? Should i apply it on the whole face? Only at night? And should i moisturize if i use the tretinoin? Thanks again.

Get on tretinoin
Probably got these sun spots when i was using minoxidil to grow a beard, that shit has alcohol so you can imagine the damage it caused to my skin. I stopped using it cuz a beard is not worth having your collagen raped.

Yea i'll get on tretinoin since every single person here is telling me to use it lol.

Basic stack:
Gentle cleanser
Moisturiser
Sunscreen
Tretinoin

If the acne doesn't clear up after 3-6 months then add Isotretinoin to the stack. I recommend low doses of Tretinoin and Isotretinoin to start off with, 0.025% and 20mg/day respectively.

I think my cleanser is a bit harsh cuz it says it is a deep cleanser for oily skin, however i still think i need it because i have oily skin and i live in a very hot place.

Only at night, pea sized for your entire face. You're going to NEED to wear sunscreen as tretinoin increases the turnover rate of the skin causing it to be extra sensitive to sunlight. After it dries you can usually put moisturizer over the top of it. Just start every other day at first, then gradually move up.

After about 3 - 6 weeks you might have a massive break out, but this is because, like I said, it increases the turn over rate of your skin, bringing all the shit up at once, but once that passes (it's called the tretinoin purge, you can look it up) you'll be good. Tret is something you can use your entire life, there are videos of chicks on youtube who are 60 but look 30 cause they've been using that shit for so long.

Sry for ressurrecting this thread, but i heard a lot of people saying you should use retin a only 3x per week. Is it okay to use daily as you told me to do? I actually want to use it everyday to see if i can get faster resulsts, minoxidil fucked up my skin.

Also, you said to exfoliate at night, i was thinking about using a chemical exfoliator with BHA for blackheads 2x per week, but some guys here told me that retin a will already get rid of dead skin cells, what do you think?

Edit: i use 0.25 retin a

Great questions. Here are my answers from experience:

I use retin a daily at .05 to combat wrinkles and acne. I’ve heard there are other benefits but that’s why I use it.

I use a physical exfoliant every night to remove the heavy layer of sunscreen that has built up all day. Then I use a cleanser to wash away the rest of the funk on my face.

I am new to retin a just like you. If you are new in the first place idk..

If you have a good cleanser to use at night and you don’t use a ton of sunscreen like I do.. watch my videos. You’ll see sunscreen all over my face. Use it!

But as of now i think you should use it daily because why not? And at least use some kind of exfoliation mitten or brush to get rid of the physical build up on your face. Retin a cant do that. It’s more physical. See what I’m saying?

Good luck. :)

Btw. Do more research. Looksmax
Me is good for suggestions and finding research articles. But you need to find those research articles yourself honestly.

yeah bro its time to take retin-a
