The point isn't to speak in slang necessarily but to not be stupidly formal when you address people. If you speak like some low IQ nigger when you're from a mostly white area nobody will take you seriously. At the same time people in mostly white areas do have very informal ways of speaking, so it's beat to just not speak like some customer service rep
