Not very common, but they do occur. My paternal grandmother had blondish ginger hair, and my materal grandmother had dark brown hair with strong ginger undertone

Most udmurts can pass as ethnic russian, yeah. But as a whole (on average) they look different from ethnic russians. In a group photo of udmurts/maris i'd be able to tell they're udmurts/maris
