So recently over the past few months I have been waking up wide awake after 4 hours of sleep. Doesn’t matter when I go to bed. I keep waking up after 4 hours and will feel tired all day.

I have been taking 5-10 mg melatonin but have taken this my whole life.

I recently added in Glycine before bed and it’s helping a bit.

Any advice? If someone actually has valuable insight I’d be willing to pay

I tried using a thc pen also and it worked for a few weeks but the sleep wasn’t the best and I fuxking hate smoking weed it makes me anxious.

I also tried hydroxizine prescribed by my doctor 20 mg and it made me feel very tired the next day

Mag glycinate seemed to worsen sleep. Should I keep trying it? I only took it one night.

Read up on the 2 process model of sleep

Usually when you wake up after 4h its because you're not sleeping during your circadian night, so you're only relying on the homeostatic sleep drive which tends to dissipate after 3-4h. Have to find your circadian night & sleep during it

Meaning I’m sleeping too late?

Its likely a timing issue

There's 2 periods every 24h when sleep is optimal (one period is longer at night, the other is in the afternoon when people sometimes take a siesta), if you sleep outside these 2 periods you'll usually wake up quite quickly even if you're sleep deprived
