Does the time you go to sleep really matter If you ask me, I'd prefer to sleep while sunbathing in the morning instead of going to bed at night. However, based on my research, the best sleep hours are from 11-12 PM to 7-8 AM Let's set all that aside wouldn't the result be the same as long as we get our 8-9 hours of sleep whenever we want, regardless of the time? After all, you're getting your rest, you're just the one deciding the schedule :hnghn:

your digestive rhythm are hormone production are heavily influenced by how irregular your mealtimes and sleep schedule is. this is also affected by how much daylight you're exposed to. you want to be awake as much as possible when the sun is out and have your mealtimes in predictable windows to optimize how well your gut and brain work together.

not exactly because your system is in a lower state of operation while you sleep. being awake while theres sunlight triggers different processes in your brain and body which simply do not happen while youre asleep. you might be getting vitamin d if you slept in the sun but none of the cognitive benefits.

I would say try to keep your mealtimes within an hour or so of difference within each other every day. so if you ate lunch at 2 today, try not to eat later than 3 or earlier than 1 the next day. I've worked with functional medicine doctors and they all seem to agree that a predictable rhythm is extremely beneficial for your gut-brain function.
