Sleep matters more than most people realize for looks. Growth hormone, skin repair, hair health, facial freshness—all happen while you sleep. If you sleep like crap, nothing else you do will help.
Basic rules:
Consistency
Go to bed and wake up at the same time every day, even weekends. Your circadian rhythm will reward you.
7-9 hours minimum
Less sleep = puffiness, bloating, droopy face. More sleep doesn’t help beyond this.
Sleep environment
Dark room, cool temperature, no screens 30-60 min before bed.
Pre-sleep habits
Stretch, hydrate (but not too much), avoid caffeine and heavy meals late.
Optional boosters
Magnesium, zinc, or melatonin if you struggle to fall asleep.
Morning hacks
Wash your face, hydrate, splash cold water on your face if you look puffy, get sunlight to reset circadian rhythm.
Bottom line
Sleep is the foundation of all. Everything else (gym, skincare, diet) works better if you are well-rested.
