genio can be limiting for patients needing both vertical + anterior advancement movements unless a bone graft is used. I needed that for my genioplasty, my chin lost a couple of precious mm of vertical height due to the advancement plane. A forward chin does give the illusion of height compared to a recessed but measurably taller chin.

ironically the woman's result looks like a chin implant. the chin cut looks very narrow as seen by the bulging and inflection points in her mandible. another problem with genio is the suboptimal chin profile shape it creates due to the inherent cut angle. The most anterior point viewed from the sagittal plane is too high up on the chin after genioplasty. regardless genio over implants in 99% of cases, chin implants look unnatural, are placed poorly and erode the underlying bone.

may have been 10k. I recall it being not much cheaper than their quoted bimax which makes sense considering the hospital fees would be much the same. a quick genio on top of a bimax is nothing.
