It gives them a higher midface ratio which makes their face appear more innocent and neotenous. It probably relates to the lateral placement of eyes on skulls of herbivores (more submissive), compared to carnivores who have eyes in the front. On men this would look like shit but the submissive nature suits women well.

You're projecting your male view. For a male even dysgenic females look fine but if we were to reverse the roles then it would be a different story. Objectively, wide IPD is shit. Everything has to be balanced.
