I'm a firm believer that the dominant variable in what dictates long term success in life is ultimately your brain, how you think.
But it's important to recognize that not all feats of performance intellectually are of the same category.
Smart: how fast you learn new material/data
Intelligence: how much accumulated material/data you have
Wisdom: knowing which material/data is valuable, which is junk, and which is situational.
Example:
Smart is being able to understand the principles of the Bible in a few weeks.
Intelligent is being able to quote the entire Bible.
Wisdom is recognizing that the Bible is a 2000 year old outdated book, written by low IQ sand niggers, but does have some huerestically useful principles (like being slow to anger, or avoid fighting authority figures).
Notice how they're wildly different, and only the last one would save you from 50 years of servitude to a nonsensical outdated ideology while simultaneously still reaping the useful teachings it gives you.
Your brain really is the biggest variable on how much success you achieve in life. But having a bunch of knowledge or learning quickly aren't even the most important elements of your brain.
