Anecdote - My cousin smoked once, he took 2-3 cigs that day, and he told me that he's never doing it again because it feels like nothing, he reported that it only gives you that cool vibe, he added to that : it's highly dangerous to your health too.

I believe he's true. Smoking is indeed pointless. I'm not a fan of it anyways though, personally.

nicotine is such a pointless drug because the buzz isn't that good to begin with and tolerance builds really quickly
smoking is so addictive probably because it's easy as hell to get cigs, and people do it constantly which makes it a really deeply ingrained habit. it also gives you small bumps of dopamine throughout the day, which makes it similar to natural sources of dopamine as compared to something like crack which is one massive dopamine dump
