Have any snus users here (specifically the 30mg+ range) faced noticeable negative effects even if you're keeping on top of dental health?

no negitive effects , just make sure to do somthing to bring the acidic levels down in ur mouth as high mg snus are highly acidic and corrosive to teeth and gums , chew gum etc

Obvious short term effects for me was my gums bleeding or peeling (along with upper lip) where I was placing the pouch, however this just healed and went away.

However something I noticed (after around 2 years of use ranging from 12-50mg) is that since I only use my left side of my mouth for snus there was slight gum recession around my canine tooth, so I’ve just switched around sides I put the pouch. This was all whilst brushing morning and night and water flossing often.

There’s multiple peer reviewed articles around hypothesising a direct link between periodontal disease or even implantitis and snus. Along side this snus can affect the acidity and pH in the mouth, which in theory leads to the erosion of tooth enamel. So yeah watch out for that. In the end idrc because it’s either that or vaping/ smoking a coffin nail, and as someone who loves sport I’ll take the slightly better option

Only use Zyns/Snus in the back lower region of the mouth, takes any chance of gum recession near your smile away.

Nobody cares about a recessed gum in the back corner of the mouth because it’s not visible.

Decent suggestion, but if you're talking about placing it near where your molars, the nicotine absorption wouldn't be too good. Plus, you'd be salivating like a pedophile at a playground. One or the other though, so I'll give it a try.
