So basically i was asking ChatGPT what my potential height is and it said 180-184cm, 184+ potentially (im a late bloomer) im 19 rn & 175cm

I asked it if vaping would affect my overall height potential which it said it did. basically nicotine slightly suppresses growth hormone and IGF-1 and it may slow your growth rate which would hinder your growth = being shorter than you would actually be if you didn't vape/smoke so it would shave off a few centimeters from your potential height.

if anybody knows something about this lmk :hnghn:

I found some sources so ill copy paste :
Then there’s the endocrine system—your hormonal command center. Nicotine fires up your adrenal glands, dumping adrenaline into your bloodstream. Sure, it gives a quick burst of energy, but it also raises blood sugar and temporarily shuts down growth hormone production. In a 2024 study, adolescent smokers showed 11% lower IGF-1 levels—and IGF-1 is one of the key hormones for bone lengthening. When you cut that off repeatedly, it’s like telling your growth plates to take a day off—every single day.

Nicotine’s main skeletal effects:

  1. Lower bone density → Greater risk of fractures and osteoporosis.
  2. Reduced calcium absorption → Weaker bones, slower growth.
  3. Delayed healing → Longer...
just don't smoke, regardless of whether your height is affected.
