I'm actually 19, and last year my height increased by at least 1.5 inches—Idek how. But what can we understand from this report's results? The doctor literally said, "I'm confused because this is only an X-ray of the wrist and hands.''

Am I cooked? Or nah?

You are done growing, since your bone age is 18 and half

Maybe, but just bone age doesn’t matter; what matters is how much fusion has already happened or is still in process. Mine is currently in process, not completely closed yet. I’m thinking of trying a height stack and considering taking an aromatase inhibitor.

too late brah bone age of 18 is too old

ChatGPT:

This is a radiology report of an X-ray taken of both wrists and hands in an anteroposterior (AP) view to determine bone age.

Findings:

  • There is fusion of the epiphysis (growth plates) at the lower ends of the radius and ulna, indicating that skeletal maturation is nearly complete.
  • The bases of metacarpals and phalanges also show fusion.
  • Fusion lines are visible in the heads of the 2nd to 5th metacarpals.

Conclusion:

  • Based on the bone fusion patterns, the bone age is estimated to be approximately 18 years ± 6 months.
  • This means the individual’s skeletal maturity is consistent with an age range of 17.5 to 18.5 years.

Implications:

  • If this test was conducted to assess legal age, it suggests that the person is likely around 18 years old.
  • It also indicates that the person’s growth plates have fused, meaning further height growth is unlikely.

Would you like help interpreting this in a specific context?

in some cases people still grow even till 25 years old, its worth giving a shot at trying

A wrist and hand X-ray is the standard method for estimating bone age, but it does not assess all growth plates in the body. While it provides a strong indication of skeletal maturity, growth may still be possible in other areas.

Limitations of a Wrist X-ray for Growth Prediction

  1. Only Assesses Wrist & Hand Bones
    • The wrist and hand are among the first areas to fully mature in late adolescence.
    • Other major growth plates—such as those in the spine, pelvis, knees, and clavicle (collarbone)—may still be open.
  2. Long Bone Growth Plates (Femur & Tibia)
    • The growth plates in the legs (femur & tibia) are responsible for most height increase.
    • If these are still open, further growth is possible.
  3. Clavicle (Collarbone) Growth
    • The clavicle’s growth plates close later than the wrist, sometimes up to mid-20s.
    • This contributes minimally to height but still indicates some skeletal immaturity.

What Can You Do?

  • If you want to be 100% sure, ask for an X-ray of your knees or an MRI to check for open growth plates in the femur and tibia.
  • A blood test for growth hormone (GH) and IGF-1 levels can also indicate whether growth potential remains.

Would you like recommendations for further tests or ways to maximize potential growth?

Its not, not even doctors claim that height stops increasing at 18 years of bone age( even though I'm 19). It solely depends on how much the bone has fused or is still in the process of fusing but I get it what you mean

Damn hopefuel lol, what would you suggest tho

bone age is determined by ossification

Im almost 24 and im tryint more natural options like 24h fasts, sprinting or weights (boosts test), sleep quality, diet, etc. You can search for video guides on youtube. Most people on here think its cope but honestly there are lots of health benefits anyway and its the most natural way of going with it

Do you think OP is into Sonic, or is he more of a Knuckles guy?

Damn honestly nothing matters if growth plates are FUSED, so like how are your growth plates open at your age?

I dont even know if they are open since ive havent even done an xray or nothing, i just read that in some rare cases you can still grow taller even at 25 years old. Im just blindly doing this with every little bit of hope left in me tbh

Bro even you know it's all cope at that age, you didn't even got xrays for it

either this or rope (for me at least).

some other member on here also showed some pseudoscience about growth plates and how in thery they never fully close, however i didnt know about that theory until they showed it to me (like a couple of days ago)

Yeah, I’ve heard this theory too. I even watched a YouTube video that proved it with facts and statistics.
