I quit after 8 months but I had this happen a couple times but I feel like it may have been placebo. Nonetheless, the drug is a hit or miss for people. I would still recommend to people even though I had a bad experience.

I've been coping for several years with the mindset that my hairloss is one of those patterns where it starts bad, but then proceeds slowly. I say this because I first noticed my hairline problems at 18, I was NW2 and yet at 24 (25 in a couple months) I still have the same hair. My hair is naturally thick so it's funny cuz people can't even tell that I'm balding (tho I reckon people on this site and balding forums can tell cuz their eyes are trained to do so), and people literally tell me they want my hair. I've had NW0 older dudes saying this wished they had my hair, which is crazy cuz my hairline is way worse than their's but my density hides my balding. Also my dad was the same way- NW2 at around 18, and at 55 he's NW3. Not great obviously, but NW3 at 55 is better than most men I think and he's only lost 1 NW since he started his recession at the same young age as me. We also have the same hair type. I still wanna get on finasteride tho cuz I'm tired of having to worry about it.. hair is fucking important man, and if I lose this I'm gonna miss people complimenting me on my hair lol

Nah, no major sides effects for me. If you think you’re balding and you’ll look like shit bald, then do something real about it. Visit a redpill derma, ask people for opinions on your hair etc. Coping that muh “balding is not happening to me” for various reasons will only get you to the point where your hair will look so shit that you’ll be willing to accept any consequence of taking Fin just to have your hair look decent but it won’t be possible ofc.

yeah i heard for some people the initial shed made them worse and they never recovered. I used to obsessively check balding forums a few years ago, when I was 21. And yeah a lot of people do say that balding patterns are really unpredictable... some people have a full head of hair, but go from NW0 to NW3 in like a year. Others hit NW2 as soon as they hit adulthood, and they essentially stabilize there w/ slowed thinning. And if you have the same hair type and hair loss pattern as your dad, his balding may be a reliable sign for how your future loss may be. It's interesting cuz for me my dad literally has the same pattern to a tee, one side is a bit more thin just like me, it's pretty crazy lol. Although his hair isn't perfect I don't think it's that bad to go from NW2 at 18 to NW3 in your 40s and 50s. At the same time I still wanna try finasteride just cuz I wanna stop worrying about it, the sides are scary tho. idk man, shit is just a tough decision. All I know is if I start noticeably balding it would kill my looks lol

You'll be fine, I'm on finasteride for one and a half years now, zero sides. But it's very important to start as soon as you spot the first signs of norwooding because finasteride won't regrow next to nothing and that's why now I'm stuck with a NW2 shit hairline.

Interesting thing this guy did was split in it up to 0.25mg per day for the first 4 months, then too 0.5 mg for the next 4 months, then if there were no sides at all, move on to the full 1mg to help the body adjust
