Take Houston for example it’s just a gigantic suburb with barely nothing. The downtown is small af and it’s even empty despite the city itself being massive. It’s just a sprawl of new builds and strip malls which cope by having fancy stones to make it “look good.”

I’m gonna agree with Americans who say it’s boring as a Eurocel I view it that way too

Same applies with Phoenix, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City etc

The opposite? Probably New York City, New Orleans, Boston, Chicago etc all which give off a European vibe

Houston feel so empty because of parking lots. In many of those "newer" cities, strict zoning laws required so much land to be dedicated to cars that it effectively killed off street life and density but it's not like that everywhere. New York City or Chicago are denser and have transits.
