So let’s just get this straight, clenching front teeth = shorter midface and clenching molars = longer

Clenching front teeth = shorter midface and longer lower third

Clenching back teeth/molars = longer midface and shorter lower third

Assuming you’re doing this with a Mouthgaurd. Please no retard bro science in this thread who say shit like “bro I shorted my midface doing this” and offer no pics or sources

How would that shorten a midface. I thought a few people claimed clenching in general can lengthen midface?

People say clenching molars can lengthen midface cause it can rotate it

look at this way

If you rotate the back of the maxilla it’s going to bring the front of the maxilla more down = a longer midface

So clenching the front part will rotate it the other way = shorter midface

Also if you clench the front it might put less stress on mandibular condyle giving you chin heights but that’s kind of off topic. That’s more with leaving space in between the back teeth only
