I’ve always had the urge to give back whether it’s donating money, feeding the homeless or helping out orphaned kids. Growing up in a Christin household, charity was just part of my life My parents al2ays fid charity, every year we’d donate my old textbooks and clothes to orphanages and come Christmas we’d hand out food and gifts to the poor. It was never about showing off. We never even told anyone or bragged about donation it was just jow I was raised. My parents raised me to believe that money isn’t something to hoard but something to share
But now that I’ve grown up and want to donate myself I hate how greedy charities have become So many “charities” turn out to be straight up scams. Like the Wounded Warrior Project they were exposed in 2016 for spending donors' money on fancy parties and staff perks, and only about 30% actually went to veterans. Even worse Kids Wish Network raised over $100 million and barely used 3% for helping sick children the rest just vanished into the pockets of fundraising companies.
It’s evil how people good intentions are taken advantage of like that. Ive sropped doinf charity because of this. I don’t want my money going toward some CEO’s bonus. I want it to actually help a starvubf kid get a meal or pay for someone’s house..
