Drugs in my youth and lack of socializing made me an emotionless monster who forgot his youth and got over his best friends death in 2 weeks

I'm less than scum, traditionally. But being heartless isn't something I can control, I can't really pretend to feel bad for it. I cried the most at his funeral tho so I can't really be a monster.

After he died I just stopped getting lonely, completely and utterly. The last thing he gave me was freedom. Although I'm not as affected as a good friend should be, I can acknowledge that he will always be the person who I can connect with the most, for me a best friend is like a connection of consciousness, and I'll never have it so thoroughly with somebody else again.

For a soulless monster like me that's just as meaningful as taking longer to get over it

Sometimes I wonder if he's watching and if he can read my thoughts, if I can I'm sure he wouldn't be offended, I did care.
