Social media is slowly turning humans into commodities

Our social value is more and more defined by our social media. Your instagram is like your store, and the product being sold is you, ofc. Soon people will begin to discriminate by social media presence, followers etc(this already happens, but will become widespread), and the relations among people will appear as relations among things. Your friends and relationships will be more and more defined by how much that person contributes for your image instead of just natural affinity.

Thank God I believe our generation wont live to see this fucked up future...

i remember back in 1987 where no one had social media. made many friends IRL. most people were social af. no one cared about followers or likes. miss those times
