I have said this multiple times before and I’ll keep on saying it more. The highest level flex was, is, and always will be is; Not I have this, but I have this and it bores me.
Hence, the beat up Birkin.
Having a decent physique but covering it up as a sleeper build.
Being a bajillionaire and to live off of protein bars inside your 12yr old Cadillac.
Complaining about being famous, complaining about your jet, having an amazing HTB+ wife but then being mean to her all the time.
In contrast trying very hard to be hot like @Clavicular and other public looksmaxxers is in fact a dark twisted homage to the fact that effortlessness remains cool and will always be cool.
A simple reason why OG PSLers of my era like @Salludon will always be more respected. Why? Cause the looksmaxxing was shown as effortless.
Because if effortlessness is the highest achievement but you know it's out of your reach. Rather than pretend to have it your best move is then to ostentatiously go the other way. And try incredibly hard to mimic what other people have effortlessly. So that what you're really now trying to flex is how deeply you buy into the system. How securely you know your place. How clearly you understand and believe in the rules which at the very least you think will put you above the fools who don't even know who to worship.
