Who was the last great leader? Chavez or Allende?
In South America? Well, imo Evo Morales was the best president we had here in the last times. Historically, I would say Chavez, for sure. Allende was a great leader, but he didnt last much cause he was severely sabotaged by the US government and the chilean bourgeois.
Lulu was a legend imo. Allende would have changed chile for the better if he had been allowed to maintain power. Pope Francis is a shining light too imo
All leaders of the pink wave(leftist governments of the early 2000's) were great at reducing both poverty and inequality in south america, this is confirmed by nearly all statistics, but at the same time they were not capable of stablishing deep structural changes which is why most of their advancements were lost soon after they got out of power. The only one who developed a somewhat stable method was Morales, and he knew it, so thats why he tried to keep himself on power, but couldnt. He is a smart guy, but too low inhib to do what it he has to do: a socialist revolution.
