Sock lifts?

I've used lifts religiously for a good amount of time, but taking shoes off is a problem as obviously you appear shorter. There are products on amazon that are essentially 1.5-2.5cm lifts shaped to fit inside your sock - it seems like such an obvious solution but there is almost no discussion about them.

Complaints are mostly stuff like heel pain after a few minutes, can't fit in low top shoes etc. but these just seem like lift-related issues that you should be used to dealing with anyway.
