if you're young look into orthodontic fixes since your teeth are likely fucked up if your thirds are very imbalanced. dont know your specific case though

I was looking at pictures a few years ago and I think my braces made me recessed, after all I had them for 2 years longer then expected because I had to get surgery

yeah quite likely. The modern orthodontics is a field that aims to straighten the teeth at the cost of functionality, beauty and even health. Switch doctors and look into myofunctional therapy, maybe you still have a chance to fix the damage caused by your doctor.
