I’ve know countless non religious people who lost everything, ended up in crippling debt or become divorced and lonely. They see spirituality as their last resort for companionship and a belief system for themselves. It doesn't happen to everyone but most will find God to guide them through tough times.

Religion has a long and complex history in Humanity. Though religions are sometimes used for reasons in war, they would have happened regardless of religion or not. Land, culture or recources are some of the many reasons for war. Humans are naturally tribalistic and would go to war for any reason jfl
