Main takeaways from this study, “We also found that genistein, though estrogenic, can interfere with the effects of estradiol. In addition, prolonged exposure to genistein resulted in a decrease in estrogen receptor mRNA level as well as a decreased response to stimulation by estradiol.”
genistein (soy phytoestrogen) decreases estradiol, a much more potent estrogen

Main takeaways: diosgenine (sweet potato/yam phytoestrogen) “increases in serum concentrations of estrone (26%), sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG) (9.5%), and near significant increase in estradiol (27%)”
Some phytoestrogens are expectedly bad, increasing strong estrogens.

Summary: soy surprisingly decreases stronger estrogens, yams seem to be far more estrogenic plants.

admittedly the soy study is in vitro, but what are your thoughts on soy after reading this? Anecdotally many people feel soy does the opposite, so i would like to know what you guys think
