Why are we so trapped by our subjective experience? When you really think about it, it's like torture. Is my existence here pure chance and thus, the pains I sustain are just things that happened? Or is there is meaning to all of this, yes, the suffering has purpose, endure it with grace, and you will be rewarded? And is that ascribed by some creator of this virtual world, or was it created by something greater than all of this, something capable of transcending subjectivity. That is a scary thought, there is so much power behind that idea. We wouldn't even be capable of fathoming this, like trying to fathom a tesseract...
Maybe the religions are wrong, but what they are aiming at isn't wrong. We aren't as smart as we would like to be, but you must admit, over time, the things we can discover, even though it's primarily born out of exploitation, are things that are truly amazing. Where the religions started from, even back to the cave images, are amazing for our simple brains. All of us, from the brightest to the dullest, are truly amazing when you sit back and take it all in. It's possible the truth rests out there, and it's possible we won't live to see it, and I don't know why I continue to worry about it, but I keep hoping I will have it answered when my life comes to an end.
