sure. i have tried to push myself into larger groups and certain crowds but i always eventually retreat back into my own world. my father is like this too, so i assume i got it from him. im okay with it most of the time, not happy or sad

Makes sense. Parents can influence their children in a lot of subconscious ways. Mine did the opposite of what you've mentioned so I have a bit of that in me.
