There has been many times where I found a new song from an unknown artist with a female voice and I really liked it. So I kept listening to it for a long time, in my head since the voice is pretty I always imagine a pretty girl singing.
But then, when I look up the artist on google and find out they’re actually an ugly af woman or fat or a tranny… I cannot enjoy the song anymore. Listening to the song reminds me of their subhumanity and I feel like continuing to listen to it is like accepting that subhumanity into my body. I don’t know how to explain but it’s just a strong feeling of repulsion and disgust.
I am no longer able to enjoy the song like before. Unless I imagine it’s a pretty girl singing, but I have to keep concentrating to maintain that image in my head. Which is hard because once you see the subhumanity you can’t unsee it and it’s difficult to ignore it
