Hi guys, big update in the hair loss space. Kintor just released Phase 3 topline results for KX-826 (topical anti-androgen), and it looks pretty solid.

Study design:

- Phase II/III seamless trial (China)

- 666 patients, 26 sites

- 24 weeks treatment

- Compared 1.0% BID, 0.5% BID vs placebo

Key results (TAHC = non-vellus hair count):

- 1.0% BID: +15.33 hairs/cm²

- 0.5% BID: +14.46 hairs/cm²

- Placebo: +4.68 hairs/cm²

Placebo-adjusted:

- +10.65 hairs/cm² (1.0%)

- +9.78 hairs/cm² (0.5%)

- P < 0.0001 (highly significant)

Safety:

- No drug-related serious adverse events

- Similar AE rates vs placebo

- Topical, low systemic absorption

Mechanism:

- Topical androgen receptor antagonist

- Blocks DHT locally in scalp (not systemic like finasteride)

What’s next:

- NDA submission in China coming soon

- Potential approval could make it the first new AGA drug class in decades

My take:

If this holds up through approval, this could be the first real alternative to finasteride/minoxidil in ~40 years.

The interesting part is:

- Comparable efficacy signal to existing treatments

- Potentially better safety profile (since it’s topical + low systemic exposure)

Also worth noting, another AR-targeting topical (Cosmo Pharma) also reported positive Phase 3 recently. So this space is heating up fast.
