Spanish culture has NOTHING to do with countries from Latin America (which are quite different from each other too)
The food is also completely different, but again, too lazy to do research. Also I know where your confusion comes from, okay the thing is in the language: the Spanish we speak in Spain is different (not a lot just some words and verbs) compared to Spain spoken is Latin America. This is why in Spain we say we speak Castellano, which is the variant we speak in Spain. Also there is no such thing as Spanish food from Latin America or Spanish music from Latin America, it’s just either Mexican Argentinian or Latin American itself.
You thought you was right because people in Latin America speak Spanish, but that doesn’t make them Spanish at all.
Now I’m gonna illustrate it with an example so you understand it better. When you say you are English, people know it’s from The UK.
