Hi
I’ve had a special interest in the development of the craniofacial complex and (dys)morphology for many years now. Also related topics like orthotropics in children and myofunctional therapies, BUT EXCLUSIVELY HEALTH RELATED!
I always knew that the blackpill and looksmaxxing existed and I disliked how they colored the science, but I never paid much mind because they were exclusive to the respective forums and sometimes subreddits.
And Evolutionary biology/psychology isn’t inherently bad, but as someone who is really against (de)moralizing (lack of) health, I can’t help but hate how it influences people’s perception on dysmorphology and perceived lack of health.
Now that the detestable blackpill and looksmaxxing have gotten extremely popular, I can hardly engage in my special interest without seeing something upsetting or just straight up incel rhetoric. I am also incredibly ashamed to talk about it, because I personally lack proper craniofacial growth and people now consciously associate that with ‘bad’ and ‘ugly’.
I find it incredibly hard to cope that my dearest interest and favorite topic makes people associate me with inceldom and how people might judge my appearance now.
