Muh deadlifts make you manlet. Muh squats squish your spine.

I squatted and deadlifted twice per week (1 conventional and 1 Romanian), and my torso keeps on getting longer. Possible illusion but feels like it.

I hate that my torso is long and my legs are short. Bro, I wish permanent spinal compression from squats and DLs were real. But it’s not real; it’s a cope.

They are terribile for the risk to reward ratio
Just Jump and sprint to build strong and good looking legs
In b4 soccer players do squat, they do low kilos High volume half squats to improve explosiveness, not the spine breaking gymcel squats

that’s like saying just box a punching bag to build big pecs

jumping and running have minimal impact on leg muscle size lol

cope, legs work completely differently from arms. you naturally use legs everyday to sustain your whole body while arms need a specific training. have you ever looked at sprinters?? all they do is sprint 100 m dashes and they have legs that put gymcels to shame. squats and deadlift give you that stocky midsection look that is not aesthetic at all.

cope bro they do more than that. they lift weights too

huge cope lol midsection size barely even changes with muscle mass. if stocky midsection happens so easily, no one would train abs.

cope it’s bc spinal compression is cope
It isn’t.
I lose nearly an inch if I’m dehydrated and it’s night. It doesn’t affect you much because your torso isn’t very long

Also have you heard about David Sinclair’s work? They cured blindness in mice by inducing the production of stem-cells, this has insane medical applications.
You could probably use it to reopen growth plates, there’s also a significant risk of cancer that might hold this shit back from becoming easily available.

Retarded thinking.

A 5'10" guy deadlifts and loses an inch, but a 5'6" guy deadlifts and doesn’t lose height? Makes no sense.

My point is that spinal compression is a COPE, not that it doesn’t exist. Something can be true but still be used as a coping mechanism or an excuse.

Yes people can lose and gain very small amounts of height because of the spinal disks. However, this doesn’t mean doing squats will turn you into a manlet.

People who cope with spine are just looking for an excuse to skip legs.

btw my torso is extremely long if you still haven’t noticed.

Wow. Fascinating. Link me articles cus I’m too lazy to search.

read classic bbodybuilders they say you never isolate abs.
bodybuilders train for mass and "aesthetics" (according to bodybuilding standards)
if you aren't dreaming of competing in powerlifting or olympic lifting there is literally no reasons to go heavy on squats and deadlifts, only risk of injury, as there are safest ways to train legs and upper body.

Nigga If gravity can compress your spine you think putting heavy weight on your back won’t?

Here’s the David Sinclair article

Very promising for anti-aging, it won’t let you live forever but it’ll alleviate the worst symptoms of aging namely degenerative diseases so it’s very promising.

And regenerating stem cells has an insane amount of medical uses.

Yea but it’s not cus training abs will bloat your waist.

Point is, since direct ab work doesn’t bloat your midsection, then squats and deadlifts (very very indirect ab stimulus) don’t either.

Fuck you for replying before my edit.

The retarded part of your thinking is you think my shorter height makes me have much less spinal (de)compression. Do you realize a 5'7" manlet is only 7% shorter than a 6'0" man? The spinal (de)compression would differ by less than 10% not a drastic amount.

They do, that's how bodybuilders achieve sticking pecs look. When you train the midsection with abs training, squats and deadlifts It gets thicker. I personally don't mind as i'm doing calisthenics so my midsection Is thick anyway, all i know Is that when i was doing squats and deadlifts with heavy loads in hs i was feeling huge load on my spine which Is clearly not healthy. I only trained sprints and jumps and i still have big muscular legs. Also the size in the leg Is mostly given by calf, that's why even Major roidcels have that chicken calf look
