@2025cel
I am having difficulty balancing spirituality with reason/logic/science.
Science is man-made and science is just a mental process. But science has greatly improved the quality of living through technology also despite the reality of life consisting of suffering and pain and loss. So it can't just be dismissed wholesale.
I know that the Vedas(and also Torah) are true because their verses concur with my own spiritual experiences. I am therefore a Rishi myself and a spiritual heir to the Rishis because I fulfill their legacy and "work", revelations/spiritual enlightenment which is the purpose of the Vedas.
Al-Ghazali like all Muslims probably was a Dvaitin.
So him saying "everything that happens is according to the will of Allah/God/Ishvara" is just equivalent to him saying the entire manifest universe/material phenomena is an expression of Shakti.
I will speak the truth to you and tell you of my lineage. I am a Naidu/forward caste by government reservation but "upper caste/Sat Shudra" by varna. We are like Nairs of Kerala. We are traditionally Vaishnavas who closely relate to Vaishnava Brahmins, "wear the holy thread during pujas" etc but I don't believe in Vaishnavism or Shaivism etc I believe in Smartism as all forms of God are Saguna Brahman.
I used to have a lot of Tamil Vaishnava Brahmin/Iyengar friends as a teen because I went to a Tamil Brahmin school called T.V.S academy in Hosur.
I'd have to travel to India to find Iyengar Brahmins as Gurus to teach me Visishtadvaita.
But I've had profound Advaitic experiences and want to learn Advaita Vedanta. So far I'm reading articles by the Swamis in Divine Life Society website. They're legit Vedanta and not the nonsense jibberish like the charlatan Sadhguru who is for foolish Shudras.
I want to do Atma Vichara. Reading works by Shri Adi Shankaracharya. Watching videos by Acharya Prashant.
I'm a spiritual aspirant seeking liberation/jivanmukti at the age of 35.
Please guide me and give me tips.
