What if everyone in the universe shares one soul, and everyone is the exact same at birth. The only thing making us different is our genetic mindset and wiring aswell as upbringing and we are all just one being basicly. Thats why being kind to people feels good.

i don't like the theory though, seems like a fictional thing made up as an atheist view to replace spirituality in religion artifically planted in order to convince people to follow theough with the same positives but instead for no god and for a ultimate goal of "Good" that is not defined by argument of morality (edit: i'm not saying it is planted, since idk, but the idea could be used and transformed for this purpose while most religions struggle to be transformed without changing their basis)

i believe in other religions since they address this, this is a self referential "religion" where the universe/you are a god and by working in your societal system you improve "yourself" (which isn't true, this theory is much more negative if false) when you just are giving out to others

Because I don't believe we all share one soul. The reason being kind feels good is due to natural selection. Those who contributed // went along with the group got to live. Being kind is apart of that. You can make the connections from here.


Natural selection doesn't only prefer survival of the group over all too. It's a mix of survival of the group, survival of one self, and some other factors. Survival of the self shouldn't be above all else if we really were one soul from what I imagine.

Usually soul is a cope religions came up with to larp as us being able to live after dying

Except zen buddhism/kyoto school in which soul is death itself and nothingness. Mu is the true nature of the soul and maya (material world and life) is a fleeting instable anomaly. Which is per Nietzsche another cope it just flips the script and pretends death is nice

If the soul really were a collective then why is the self preferred over all if given the choice? Why are narcissism and hatred of the world able to be developed? If the soul really was engrained within us and everyone else as a whole it seems like it would be a contradiction to go against it?

Well if what I said was true people would of course still prioritize there physical needs and there dopamine that they would feel

But dopamine would come from "helping people" as "the soul is a collective" like you stated. Going against the world and a hatred of all would go against your soul. Without your soul what are you? Your argument makes it impossible to develop narcissism as a contradiction is created.

Well the kindness part of my theory might be arguable but the other parts coukd still stand
