Im not trying to sound like ai im actually gonna write how i normally would. Ill have the same opinion as chat gpt. I wont use acronyms nor slang to try to at least put up a challenge
Question: Is the idea that humans are the only consious beings in the universe scarier than the idea that there is a consious being out there?
1: both statements are terrifying, but if i had to pick a side id definitely go with the second one. Sure, the universe being blank sound frightening, however someone uncertain existing in the pit of space makes chill run down my spine. We cant for sure know if the species which managed to survive will even put up with us in the first place—rather than just evaporating us for we propose the same level of threat to them.
2: If I’m choosing a side, the idea of another conscious being out there is definitely the scarier one. Being alone in the universe is bleak, but at least it’s simple and there’s nothing to threaten us. The moment you introduce another intelligent species, you introduce uncertainty—what they want, what they can do, and whether we even matter to them. That unknown feels way heavier and way more dangerous than cosmic loneliness ever could.
Lmk if you guessed right
I think its still pretty easy to tell the difference
